What I do

I am a seamstress working in the South Hams, Devon, I established my business in 2013.
I love creating and making.
I design and make my own collection of clothing.
I take commissions for dressmaking and I create beautiful hand-made curtains and roman blinds.

I can teach you how to confidently use your sewing machine and get started with exploring it's uses.

I no longer take on alterations. I focus on creating my own collection whilst also making beautiful, traditionally crafted soft furnishings. I make hand tailored clothes for clients too.

Double pinch pleat lined & interlined curtains with stripe detail.

A very smart and luxuriously sumptuous pair of curtains. Super stylish with a bespoke black stripe detail. These are going to make a huge difference in the colder months as this gorgeous grade II listed house only has single glazing.

Olive Needlecord Jacket
I have the best clients - I was commissioned to make a copy of a very beloved and frequently worn jacket (pics at the end), but lined this time. I was given some beautifully soft cotton needlecord and a lovely soft cotton lining. We made it a little roomier but apart from that every detail is the same. The cut suits my client effortlessly and I think she'll be wearing this new soft jacket often!

I made some cushions.
My new and very lovely client bought these classic Habitat chairs in 1979 and the old cushion pads were long gone, they had scatter cushions on as a make do...which didn't work well with the bucket type chairs.
She asked if I could get new pads made and make piped covers for them with zips..so that's what I did. Using a foam core with a down wrap for the pads and some wonderful canvas made from recycled cottons (rubbish from the fast fashion industry)...from @textileexpress.
And just like that, the chairs look complete again plus they are super comfy and will be very hard-wearing.

Client very happy, I'm very happy..if a bit envious of her gorgeous chairs - perfect 🙌

A recent commission - make two skirts using gorgeous fabrics from @lochcarron_of_scotland
The fabric was woven in Selkirk, Scotland, a mix of wool, mohair and silk to produce stunning loop tweed. One skirt was lined with a silk and the other with a silky soft cotton lawn. Made by me here in Devon. I loved working with these fabrics - truly classic and super stylish. With pockets 💫
